Canada – A desirable place to live

Under Community News

Canada has always been a desirable place to live….people are no longer looking at Canada strictly as an investment they are looking at it from the perceptive that its a region where their values and principals are more aligned with Canadas.

Canada’s stable political and financial systems, along with a tradition of cultural tolerance and openness to immigration and diversity, make our country an ideal destination for international purchasers looking to invest in real property.  Recently, a lower Canadian dollar has made this proposition even more attractive.

While we may just be at the curiosity stage for many Americans it was interesting that Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s website crashing during the night of the election , as well as the record number of Americans googling ‘how to move to Canada’ reinforces the worldwide strength of brand-Canada as a prosperous and tolerant place to raise a family.

Our research does point to a robust amount of foreign buyer activity in larger residential markets, including the Greater Toronto Area and Metro Vancouver. Canada remains a favoured nation within the global real estate marketplace, and this is unlikely to change, especially given the results of the US election.

Immigration and foreign investment are pillars supporting the Canadian economic success story. The world views our country as a tolerant, culturally diverse, fair, and stable place to live, work and invest.

While Canadians have been the principal foreign buyers of sunbelt property in states like Florida and Arizona, historically, a lower Canadian dollar has encouraged waves of U.S. buyers here as well. For years, Americans have been one of the top three most prevalent international buyers of property in Canada, and serve as the largest foreign purchaser of recreational property in our nation. As a result of the U.S. election, this trend may intensify, as Americans increasingly look to purchase property here, dipping their toes into the water in order to see if they are able to permanently live in Canada.

There has been an ongoing concern…..During the entire election as the notion of a trump presidency became more real….our american neighbours to the south vowed to pickup and move to Canada

Question: How real is this?

Question: Whats it going to do?

Canada is a desirable place to be….the US remains the top three countries we see immigrants could be material , deporting 11 million workers and starting a trade war with China….desirability to leave…and we’re their neighbours

We have seen an uptick in residential, toe in the water approach if you’re finding it difficult, sun below and New York state

When the dollar reverses course, less interest you could see some of the discretionary capital that was previously earmarked for the US to pull back

Movement is to due with Job opportunity, that would materially impact housing demand, it would take targeted policy more restrictive lending policy from the federal government….consumer sentiment gain some traction on America after these recent election results.
